My Services

Individual Counseling

As an experienced professional, I will meet you wherever you may be in life and offer a comprehensive, individualized approach to treating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, PTSD, anger management, and relationship issues or marriage/family concerns. I will help you identify and accomplish your own individual goals that move you toward recovery. My process draws on your already-present strengths and skills, to create a method of treatment that expands upon your current positive attributes so that they may better serve you in the future, while helping you learn new coping skills and behaviors that will benefit your current situation and whatever you may face in the future.

I’m here with you each step of the way so that you can confidentally take the steps toward accomplishing your treatment goals and living the life that you desire. By providing the guidance, compassion, support, and insight to tackle whatever you may be facing, I help others navigate the difficult, discouraging moments in life and equip you with the skills you need to be successful long after treatment. You are much stronger than you may believe, and I want to see you heal and thrive.

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing

The human body has an amazing ability to heal itself. Broken bones mend, organs regenerate tissue, and platelets clot to stop bleeding. But did you know the human body can also heal emotional trauma? Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a treatment which uses the way our brains process information to help you heal. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma.

EMDR therapy uses lateral eye movements to facilitate access to negative memories or experiences and encourage emotional healing, so that you feel less distressed, anxious, or upset and more like yourself again. It is a common belief that healing from severe or complex tramua takes many years of treatment before you begin feeling better. However, EMDR therapy activates the brain’s natural healing processes—just like our body would heal a cut on our hand—and has shown effective in treating the effects of trauma on the mind in a fraction of the time of traditional talk therapy.

If you’re ready to develop life-changing habits in order to promote a happier, healthier you, get in touch today.

Child and Adolescent Counseling

Adolescents today face many issues and challenges that can lead to feeling overwhelmed and confused. Childhood can be a time of great vulnerability, confusion, and emotion. These years are riddled with transitional issues – physical and emotional changes along with the desire to establish independence from their parents, which can result in feelings of confusion and discouragement. Many children and teens often don’t have the needed coping skills to deal with this significant distress which may lead to them engaging in risky behaviors or becoming depressed and/or anxious.

Sometimes, adolescents may just need someone outside of their family to discuss the stressors they are dealing with and help them relieve the pressure they feel.

Counseling For Couples

Although great relationships may seem magical, the skills required to achieve them are not – they’re learned. A couples counselor can be an asset in acquiring these skills, and understanding the patterns that impact your relationship, in order to liberate you both from the power struggles and blame.

While many couples seek counseling during times of distress and conflict, counseling can be useful at all stages of a relationship. Whether beginning a partnership, considering new commitments like marriage or having children, struggling with intimacy, or wanting to deepen an already intimate and fulfilling relationship, I’ll work with you to establish common goals and identify your individual and relationship values.

Counseling For Families

If your family experiencing the same, ongoing struggles, including arguments, conflicts, lack of cooperation, frequent misbehavior or dishonesty, irritability among family members, or activity overload leading to severe stress and anxiety, it’s time to seek a new approach with a trained, professional counselor. Family counseling can help bring you much-needed relief. We will work together to solve problems, avoid blame, and minimize stress, which can increase your family’s flexibility, while establishing consistent rules and routines that promote respect and accountability from all family members.

Counseling For First Responders

As a first responder, we understand you’re working under constant stress and pressure. You’re the first to give help, but often the last to receive it. The cumulative stress of the job can lead to dangerous repercussions if not appropriately addressed. I provide convenient and confidential services that are specifically tailored to you and your unique needs as a police officer, firefighter, emergency medical technician, or military member. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness – in fact, it’s the opposite. Your counseling session is a judgement free zone, and a place where you can safely share your difficult experiences; allowing you to better support the people who need you most, and get back to the job you were meant to do.

Teletherapy Services

All of the above services are now being offered online. Research shows that online counseling is just as effective, if not more, than in person counseling. You get to talk with your therapist from the comfort of your own home, office, or even while taking a walk. Most clients report enjoying online therapy even more than in person. Getting started is easy. Simply contact my office or request an appointment. From there, I will provide instructions on how to use my simple telehealth platform, and we can schedule your first session at a time that’s most convenient for you.
